Institution

Description

The Institute has a permanent staff of 13 scientists and 18 technicians. Additional staff is employed on temporary basis. The scientific focus of the Institute of Land Use Systems is the development of sustainable land use schemes. Emphasis is put on the analysis of options and keeping future options open, which includes the analyses of scenarios, e.g. a closer adaptation of land use to specific site conditions, the continuation of technological progress, or even the abandonment of agriculture in marginal areas. Based on this, the Institute conducts integrated development of long term environmentally sound land use concepts.
