Purpose of research: Applied research

Emissions of N2O and other greenhouse gases are controlled by water availability and the N-application technique. This project investigates the impact of reduced summer precipitation and resulting drought stress on emissions of CO2, CH4 and N2O from soils under corn and sorghum. Furthermore, the impact of NH4-injection fertilization on greenhouse gas emissions and nitrogen turnover processes will be investigated.
