Description

The seed allows both the survival of plants when environmental conditions are unfavourable and dispersion for the colonisation of new sites. Seeds are also of economic importance as the starting material for crops, as food and they are transformed by the agro-industry into a variety of products. Seed biology is, therefore, of interest for both fundamental and applied reasons, which is why the Seed Biology Laboratory (LBS) was created.
