Reflections on preconditions and possible constraints concerning a constructive knowledge transfer in the case of animal health in organic livestock farming
Project
Project code: 2812OE016
Contract period: 01.02.2013
- 31.07.2013
Budget: 49,937 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Persistent deficits in animal health status of farm animals in organic livestock farming found on many farms despite various efforts of the advisory services indicate that the previous transfer of knowledge from applied science into farm practice was not sufficient to achieve relevant improvements. So far a critical debate is lacking about the cognitive and communicative preconditions and the possible constraints preventing a constructive transfer of knowledge. The aim of the project is to initiate a reflective process of learning with those stakeholders involved in knowledge transmission (scientists, advisors and farmers) using the example of the animal health issue in organic livestock production. To improve a constructive knowledge transfer, preconditions and constraints of the process will be identified under the supervision of experts in the discipline of communication.
