Collaborative project: Implementation of driven, controlled and tensile-generating soil processing tools in application units of liquid economic fertilizers (KombiWkz) - subproject 1 (KombiWkz)

Project

Project code: 2818103815
Contract period: 01.08.2017 - 31.07.2021
Budget: 347,634 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: digital world, resource protection, resource efficiency, farmyard manure, soil (soil conservation, soil fertility, soil cultivation, soil health), agricultural engineering, precision farming, fertilization

"The aim of the KombiWKZ project was to use the vertical force caused by the tine tools and the machine weight to generate horizontal feed forces by driving the supporting elements. Electric drives were used to achieve high efficiency and controllability of the drive train. As a result of the project, a feasibility model was designed and built. The concept consists of strip tillage with injection of liquid manure, as used in the cultivation of row crops. As a result of the field tests, it was determined that the tractor can be relieved of the heavy tractive force that has to be applied by at least 30%. The relief can be more than 50%, depending on the operating conditions. The overall performance of the tractor-KombiWkz combination does not exceed the necessary installed engine power compared to the conventional, passively towed device. This means that either lighter, more powerful tractors can be used with the same working width or the same tractors with a larger working width or more difficult operating conditions."
