Project code: EIP-Agri-NRW-2017-LPPGDB01, REFORDAT-
Contract period: 01.01.2017 - 30.06.2020
Budget: 456,049 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: farming practice/activity, plant production and horticulture, fertilisation, soil

The yield in organic farming is stagnating. Soil samples of long term organic farmed fields show problems with respect to the pH-values and phosphorus. Other substances of larger circulations entering the agricultural cycles are difficult to assess. There is no standard calculation of fertilizers for organic agriculture. An organic fertilizer program is being developed for potatoes and vegetables as culture samples. This program can be adapted for other cultures. Furthermore a standard soil sample package for organic farms will be developed. The standard analysis of soil samples usually only indicates readily available nutrients. Organic farming is based on the supply of nutrients for soil and organic matter. For this purpose it is necessary to research and test potential measuring parameters with the LUFA NRW. The planning of the nitrogen availability offers the program N-DICEA, written by the Dutch Louis Bolk Instituut. Rewriting the program allows similar calculations for NRW in the future.
