Uncovering barley yellow mosaic virus strain - resistance gene interaction
Project
Project code: JKI-RS-08-3415, 2818BIJP01
Contract period: 01.08.2019
- 30.04.2022
Budget: 232,388 Euro
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
The aims of the projects are (1) to get an overview about the barley yellow mosaic virus strains present in Germany and Japan, (2) to develop an effective inoculation method for BaYMV, (3) to get information about the interactions between the virus strains (isolates) and the 20 known resistance genes and (4) to isolate the BaYMV resistance derived from HOR4224.
A result of the project will be an actual overview about the BaMMV and BaYMV strains present in Germany and Japan and about the effectiveness of the known resistance genes to these strains. The BaYMV resistance gene of the accession HOR 4224 will be isolated.
