Purpose of research: Applied research
The project will identify 25 plastic applications which often end up in the environment even when used properly. For such applications, biological degradation is the most reasonable end-of-life option according to environmental criteria. The identification will be supported by experts and involved industries. For each of the applications, concise and easy-to-grasp profiles will be designed in which biodegradable substitute materials will be described. These profiles will be provided to industry and policy makers to serve as a guideline for a switch to a more sustainable economy.
