Purpose of research: Basic research
The objective of this research activity is to install data logging devices at selected wooden construction components at the pedestrian bridge in Essing in order to measure and to evaluate the occurring damage caused by wood destroying fungi. The automatic data logging serves for early detection of ongoing damage, which is of significance for the safety of the structure as well as for obtaining perception regarding the influence of wood moisture content, temperature, humidity and other factors on the appearance of damage caused by wood destroying fungi, in particular in the case of wooden constructions close to water.
