Data management in the ICES and EU environment

Purpose of research: Basic research
OSF staff contributes to the development of international databases, specifically in an ICES and/or EU context. The work comprises the further development of the ICES trawl survey database (DATRAS; formerly BITS), and the facilitation of structures for an integration of marine data within ICES-WGDIM and EU-MODEG. WGDIM (Working Group on Data and Information Management) advises the ICES data centre, while MODEG (Marine Observation and Data Expert Group) helps the EU-Commission to develop EMODNET (the European Marine Observation and Data Network). The OSF employee represents fishery science expertise in the group.
