Collaborative project: Mapping and exploitation of new sources of resistance to net blotch (Pyrenophora teres f. teres) in barley
Project
Project code: 2814303107
Contract period: 01.03.2008
- 14.04.2011
Budget: 162,101 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development
The project aims at getting information on the genetics of net blotch resistance in different resistance donors of barley. Based on these results mapping of resistance genes in the barley genome and the development of innovative molecular markers facilitating marker based selection will be conducted. The improvement of the resistance of barley against the pathogen Pyrenophora teres f. teres is difficult due to the high physiological variability of the fungus. Therefore, additional crosses will be carried out for pyramiding of QTLs for P. teres resistance.
