Purpose of research: Basic research

Based on the database provided by the University of Wales and respective report ‘The Safety of Irradiated Foods: A literature review’ the contractor is asked to review the database for completeness of literature published since 1990. The following aspects shall be used for judging the completeness: 1. articles directly related to the safety of irradiated food (literature published since 2000) 2. articles directly related to the effect on food nutrients (literature published since 2000) 3. articles related to the efficacy of irradiation of foodstuffs (literature published since 1986) The findings should be summarised in a report. Relevant literature for point 1-3 which is not included in the British survey studies shall be listed in form of a reference list.
