Project code: BFH-V-02-2.13
Contract period: 01.01.2005 - 31.12.2006
Purpose of research: Applied research

PYTEC has been developing an ablative fast pyrolysis process for the conversion of wood chips to bio oil. In contrast to fluidized bed systems, PYTEC's process works without heat carriers and fluidization media. The project is firstly aimed at developing a feeder system for straw-like material, such as miscanthus, sorghum, and silage. Another objective is the hydroprocessing of the crude bio oil to make it compatible for conventional petroleum refineries.
