Purpose of research: Applied research
Application and development of participatory evaluation approaches. Objective of the Community initiative LEADER+ is the promotion of local integrated development strategies with pilot character. LEADER+ is supposed to strengthen the mobilisation and use of endogenous development potential and to offer a laboratory for trying out new approaches to rural development. For such an approach the common evaluation tools are appropriate only to a limited extent. According to the participatory approach of LEADER, the evaluation also followed a participatory approach. The main element of this approach was to include the stakeholders in defining the evaluation design and the relevant indicators as well as in analysis and interpretation of the collected information.
