Purpose of research: Applied research
The project demonstrates for the region Emilia Romagna in Italy how organic residues (sewage sludge, manures, others) can be successfully utilised in the agricultural production of plant biomasses intended for generating renewable energy, thus contributing to a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere and the sequestration of significant amounts of carbon in soil.
