Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
(1) In-situ measurement of the exchange of greenhouse gases and reactive nitrogen on the intensive measurement site Gebesee – a cropland studied in the EU-projects CarboEurope and NitroEurope.
(2) Laboratory incubations of undisturbed peat columns with differing dynamics of dry-wet cycles to simulate grassland use with the water table close to the land surface – a possible form of climate-friendly peatland use.
