FOR 948 P11: Selection of rapeseed genotypes for efficient uptake and retranslocation of nitrogen
Project
Project code: DFG FOR 948
Contract period: 01.01.2009
- 31.12.2010
Purpose of research: Basic research
NPZ-Lembke will contribute with different field trials to the proposed project. The plant material used in this study represents 7 NPZ elite winter rapeseed lines that have been selected according to their wide genetic distance. Further 6 winter rapeseed hybrids have also been included in the experimental program. The hybrids are included to test their agronomic performance regarding the response to low nitrogen input in comparison to open pollinators.
Furthermore, NPZ is now developing a new double haploid population (DH-Pop) using 2 genotypes as parents, that will be included as well. This new DH-Pop will be used for genotyping and QTL analysis to develop molecular markers associated with the trait N-use efficiency and nitrogen re-translocation during the seed-filling phase.
