'With regard to the dynamic development of the agricultural framework conditions (keywords mid-term review, EU-extension, WTO) a branch-oriented analysis with feedback to the agricultural actors in the segment of beef production seems to be appropriate. The follwing questions are addressed:
- Which are the impacts of changes in agricultural framework conditions on the economic situation in farms with beef production and suckler-cows?
- Which farm-level adaption strategies can be defined and what are the economic implications of their implementation?
- Which are the most likely impacts of implementing the policies and strategies on the land use, particularly on grassland use?
- Which agri-policy options exist and which measures appear to be appropriate for achieving the desired developments?'
