Purpose of research: Applied research
The aim of this research project is to collect the necessary measures for an efficient operations management for health care using an operationally coordinated animal health plan for ecologically guided pig holdings, to examine them on their effectiveness and to quantify the required for the implementation of time and financial requirements. The results will help to minimize health problems in organic pig production and enable the companies in a position to meet the demands of consumers for healthy and safe food. This should be carried out using the modified CCP concept to 20 piglets ecologically managed farms in several states a vulnerability assessment, which will be expanded if necessary by further diagnostic measures. In a second step, the companies with the assistance of counseling services, an optimization plan is developed, its implementation is monitored through regular site visits. In parallel, a socio-economic analysis for monitoring the success of animal health plan is carried out. From the results of the project, in collaboration with the associations of organic farming advice targeted recommendations for the implementation of animal health plans worked out on farms and are published as a booklet.
