Purpose of research: Applied research
The aim of the project is the development of an inter-farm support tool as an early warning system for monitoring and improving claw health on dairy farms. Information on farm specific risk factors of various sources (activity patterns of the animals, Temperature-Humidity Index (THI), findings of hoof trimming, (indirect) metabolic parameters from milk recording, stage of lactation, milk yield etc.) will be recorded, linked, interpreted from a veterinarian point of view and condensed. The project is based on an automatic and standardised data exchange which is to be ensured by further development of the DLQ data portal. Thus, allowing nationwide benchmarking.
