Project code: FLI-ITT-08-CE-0052
Contract period: 01.01.2016 - 31.12.2016
Purpose of research: Applied research

The present study seeks to examine whether humane stunning of non-viable piglets with highly expansive, nitrogen-filled foam is possible and whether it can be used as an alternative stunning and killing method on farm level. The effectiveness of stunning by applying the foam method (anoxia technology) has only been proven for poultry until now.
