Institution
Section overview
Description
Our research focuses on the following main topics: Nutritional programming, endocrine metabolic regulation, energy metabolism as well as protein metabolism and gastro-intestinal microbiology.
We use a problem-oriented approach aimed at identifying regulatory mechanisms of nutrient intake, absorption, and flux as well as of transformation of nutrients in animal products. Particular consideration is given to the essential influences on these processes such as nutritional and other exogenous factors, as well as the genotype and the ontogenetic state.
We use a systemic approach and have a wide range of methods at our disposal which enable us to conduct studies on the whole organism, on selected organs, as well as on the cellular or molecular level.
