Proteome analysis using transgenic potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L) with improved soft rot resistance
Project
Project code: JKI-RS-08-3349
Contract period: 01.01.2004
- 30.06.2008
Purpose of research: Basic research
Protein patterns of transgenic potatoes will be analysed in the stage of an induced resistance by means of 2D-electrophoresis and subsequently, compared with the non-transgenic counterparts. Conspicuous proteins, which are e.g. enhanced expressed and if so, associated with properties of relevance for resistance to soft rot will be characterized.
The investigations will lead to new approaches in resistance research. They enable an insight into the proteome of transgenic plants. Changes in the protein pattern due to the presence of a foreign gene will be distinguishable.
The project is assigned to safety research.
