Purpose of research: Experimental development
The project’s objective is to increase the consumer protection in the Internet by supporting the user in judging on the trustworthiness of a webpage. This is done by automating checks that are nowadays already possible but very time-consuming and requires expert knowledge and by providing the result of this check in an understandable and transparent way. This objective is dived in three sub objectives: 1. Development of a tool to judge on the trustworthiness of a webpage and in particular of web shops and to provide feedback to the user in terms of warnings and hints to proceed. 2. Integration of the tool in a secure environment to protect the tool and the personal information including the risk profile. 3. Development of en IT security evaluation seal for webpages which can be interpreted by the tool regarding its content, validation, and authenticity.
