Evaluation of adapted crop yield estimates within the statistical network integrating modern methods of remote sensing (SatAgrarStat)
Project
Project code: JKI-PB-08-1264
Contract period: 01.04.2018
- 31.03.2020
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
The aim of SatAgrarStat is to test the possibilities and advantages of remote sensing based yield estimates with Copernicus data for the official agricultural statistics. For this purpose, yield estimates based on Sentinel-2A /B will be compared to field level statistical data in various federal states. Subsequently, a comparison is made at county level in selected federal states. The yield estimates will be performed for the winter wheat (WW), winter oilseed rape (WRa) and spring barley (SG). An important innovation is the integration of phenological information, which helps in quality assurance and are used to describe the ripeness of the relevant crops.
