Long-term monitoring and functionality of dust separators for single-room heaters in the field Part 1: Fundamentals, field installation and initial operating experiences (FNR-LangEFeld)
Project
Project code: 2220NR108A
Contract period: 01.01.2023
- 31.12.2025
Purpose of research: Applied research
Within the scope of the project, the long-term suitability of up to 30 electrostatic precipitators (ESP) for single-room furnaces is to be assessed under real conditions. Suitable measurement methods are to be sought and validated for the assessment of the separation efficiency. Recommendations for the practice will be provided from the findings. For this purpose, a large number of ESPs will be installed in the field and monitored with measurement equipment. Likewise, three ESPs will be measured regularly in the test rigs and operated over two heating periods. The long-term behavior of catalysts will also be investigated. The interpretation of the measurement data is intended to identify possible weak points and possibly provide indications of the need for cleaning equipment. A risk assessment was carried out on the basis of the separated dusts.
