Investigations on resting and climbing platforms for dairy goats

Purpose of research: Basic research
Recommendations on the design and structure of housings for goats are missing. Nothing is known about the requirements of the lying area in particular with respect to softness and plasticity. In this study dairy goats were offered resting platforms equipped with different floorings (straw and wood). The platforms were installed at different heights in order to offer climbing opportunities as well as to enable an optimal use of the stable ground. We recorded both the use of resting platforms.
