The “ABAG-interaktiv” is an already existing web app, that allowes the user to assess the erosion risk of arable land by supplying the app with data concerning the rain intensity, soiltype, steepness, slope length, crop rotation and soil protection measurements. The App is based on the USLE (universal soil loss equation by Wischmeier W.H., Smith D.D. 1978), adapted to Bavarian conditions (Schwertmann U., Vogl W., Kainz M. 1987).
The aim of this project is to convert the already existing “ABAG interaktiv” erosion assessment web app, which is provided as an LfL internet tool, into a modern application, which can be used with the help of a smartphone as well as by conventionally using the LfL homepage on a PC. The application is meant to be used online as well as offline, by PC or Smartphone. A momentarily not existing mapping tool will be implemented to allow the user to show his/her actual location on a map and to identify slope steepness and slope length by defining specific slope sections in the map.
Aim of this project is also to update the database and to bring in new scientific aspects, especially concerning the actualization of the soil erodibility, aspects of crop rotations and the rain erosivity.
