Gene Center Munich
Institution
Section overview
Description
The Gene Center of the University of Munich (LMU) conducts interdisciplinary research and teaching in key areas of the life sciences. The aim of our research is to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying fundamental biological processes, with special emphasis on the regulation of gene expression. Disciplines represented include structural biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, developmental biology, and virology. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Gene Center continues to explore new frontiers. It is now expanding towards the emerging discipline of molecular systems biology, with the aim of developing mechanistic and quantitative descriptions of regulatory processes and networks.
