Joint project: Sustainable Agriculture with the help of Artificial Intelligence, Subproject: Multiscale and multisensor information extraction from remote sensing data (NaLamKI)
Project
Project code: JKI-PB-08-1300
Contract period: 01.01.2021
- 01.12.2023
Purpose of research: Applied research
In the NaLamKI project, a cloud-based SaaS (Software as a Service) platform is being created with open interfaces for providers from the upstream and downstream areas of agriculture, industry, and for service providers of special applications in crop production. By aggregating sensor and machine data, which are obtained by remote sensing (satellites, drones), soil sensors, robotics, manual data collection and inventory data, a valuable pool of data is created from which agricultural processes such as irrigation, fertilization and pest control can be achieved using modern AI methods can be optimized. NaLamKI creates the possibility of a high-dimensional evaluation and fusion of all aggregated data. With GAIA-X compliant services, the platform will operate interoperably between different central and decentralized cloud providers and users, while data sovereignty for all economic actors along the agricultural value chain is always guaranteed. In the MussIF sub-project, JKI focuses on the provision of analysis-ready satellite image data and data products for monitoring the development and condition of agricultural stocks by means of radar and optical remote sensing systems at all scale levels and using innovative AI methods.
