Description
Throughout its history of more than 100 years, the academic study of Africa in Leipzig has developed a specific profile that is unique in Germany. Today, African Studies in Leipzig spans a wide multidisciplinary range which is characterised by the combination of linguistics, philology, historical and social sciences as well as cultural studies. The Institute of African Studies offers the Bachelor programme “Afrikastudien” (African Studies) as well as the Master programme “Afrika Studien / African Studies”. The institute also supervises a wide range of PhD projects and hosts the international research and training programme “Small Enterprise Promotion + Training (SEPT)”.
