Description
The Centre for International Rural Development is a scientific organisational unit of the University of Kassel based at Witzenhausen. Its purpose is to develop, update and implement strategies and programmes in research and teaching and to offer logistical and technical support for the international activities of its member departments. As an institute of the Faculty 11 the Centre for International Rural Development is responsible for representing and developing the international agricultural profile of this Faculty. It is also an information and documentation centre for rural development in the Tropics and Subtropics. Together with the Department of Vocational Studies (BPS), the Centre for International Rural Development is responsible for handling the European Student Mobility Programmes (ERASMUS, SOCRATES).
