Section overview
Description
Research tasks We understand plant nutrition as a process which supplies essential substances to living plants to enable plant growth and maintain live. Sustainable nutrition of plants means a nutrient supply with respect to amount and time dependent on demand and efficient utilization. The aim is to avoid nutrient losses and nutrient enrichment in the environment. Research is to do in the following aereas, to improve knowledge in nutrient turnover processes in the rhizosphere and their availability to plants and to analyze processes which effect nutrient uptake itself (e. g. root growth) and/or effected by the nutritional status of the plant (e.g. susceptability to deseases). In cooperation with other specialists is the aim of our work: . to improve plant growth . to increase the product quality . to reduce inputs into the production process . to minimize environmental pollution caused by fertilization. Results will support strategies for sustainable production of vegetables and ornamentals.
