Institution
Section overview
Description
Research in the Institute focuses on the measurement and evaluation of radiation exposure from natural and artificial sources of radiation, analysis of the risk of somatic late effects, and the development of recommendations and guidelines for radiation protection. The main aim is to optimise the medical use of ionising radiation, and to quantify the individual health risk of low radiation doses, and thus improve the protection of the general population to ionising radiation and of those subjected to occupational exposure.
