Description
The Environmental Policy Research Unit (FFU) was set up as an interdisciplinary research institute in 1986 at the Free University of Berlin, where it draws on a tradition of political science research reaching back to the mid-1970s and functions as a coordinator for environmental research in the social sciences. The FFU is one of the largest European political science research institutes for the environment. It is an active member of an international network of social science institutes for environmental research and collaborates with German institutes such as the DIW, ZEW, RWI WZB, IOEW, OEko-Institute and the Wuppertal Institute.
