High throughput screening in plant nurseries
Project
Project code: 0315530
Contract period: 01.01.2009
- 31.12.2014
Purpose of research: Basic research
Aim of the subproject is to validate and further develop high-throughput technologies that enable a precise, quick and cost-saving characterization of physiological and phenotypic traits in barley. Algorithms for the non-destructive sensing of the water status, morphology (biomass, canopy height, lodging) and phenology (occurrence of heading and maturity) shall be developed. Appropriate algorithms will be used for the assessment of drought stress tolerance of spring barley genotypes in breeding nurseries.
