Development of a regionalized EU-wide operational model to assess the impact of Common Agricultural Policy on farming sustainability, Task 2: Development of a farm typology and integration of farm system models for a regionalized agricultural sector
Project
Project code: vTI-BW-08-72
Contract period: 01.01.2005
- 31.08.2007
Purpose of research: Applied research
The main aim of introducing farm types into the system was to ameliorate the analysis of agricultural policies linked to structural variables such as farm size or stocking density, and to allow for income analysis at the farm type level. In other words, the introduction of data for single farms from the FADN database reduces the aggregation bias of the model at the regional level. The farm group models could be defined by a number of indicators such as economic importance, environmental impact and so forth. The standard grouping is proposed to use a typology based on specialisation and on economic size classes.
