Section overview
Description
The Dedelow site is located in ZALF's main area of investigation (Ucker catchment area).
This region is characterised by a continental/Atlantic transition climate (annual average of 8,4°C air temperature and 486 mm precipitation) with long dry phases in spring and cold winters.
The loamy soils (40 to 60 fields) enable the intensive farming of winter cereals, rape, sugar beet and maize to be carried out in the Uckermark.
Dedelow Research Station manages an experimental area of over 50 hectares, as well as 2 lysimeter stations (constructed in 1990 and 2010).
