Development of sensor technologies for the analysis of the whole soil-plant system
Project
Project code: z1011bc001a
Contract period: 01.01.2012
- 30.06.2015
Budget: 1,633,625 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Development of non-invasive analysis methods for complex traits detection by existing or novel sensor technology. The investments are used for the description of crop stands by LIDAR, micro wave technology, headspace analytics, and the sensoric coverage of soil conditions and sensor fusion. The objectives are the capture of the complete soil-crop system by sensor technology with the merger of genomic and physiological information. Accompanying validation data are gained by annually repeated central experiments and contemporary validation in commercial breeding nurseries. The immediate knowledge transfer for educational purposes is maintained by graduate training and summer schools.
