Efficient utilization of wastes - Cell free fermentation of lactose and extraction of residual protein from agricultural waste streams (ProLac)
Project
Project code: G2/N/20/13
Contract period: 01.01.2021
- 31.12.2023
Budget: 325,125 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: enzyme cascades, biocatalysis, agricultural wastes, renewable resources, protein, lactose, starch
One part of the project is the integration of saccharide containing waste streams from agro-industrial processes in an established enzyme cascade. The main goal there is to optimize the cascade to enable the production of bulk and/or platform chemicals from these resources. The other part of the project aims to extract and modify protein from process water flows of the agro-industrial processing of biomasses, as well as the integration of the technology into existing production processes.
