Purpose of research: Applied research
The aim of this project is to analyze infectious causes, means of distribution, and pathogens of bacterial diseases in horticulture. During the last years, the problem of bacterial pathogens increased due to climate changes causing more and more yield losses. There is no approved way of antibiotic treatment in horticulture. In the future alternative strategies need to be developed to protect vegetable crops. The results obtained from this project should give growers an approach to solve problem of bacterial pathogens in horticulture - thus reducing yield losses.
