Learning dependent gene expression of NCAM180 in the hippocampus of laying hens kept under different housing systems
Project
Project code: FAL-TT-02-SP-03-04b
Contract period: 01.10.2005
- 31.10.2006
Purpose of research: Basic research
Hens kept in unstructured housing conditions almost can not show exploratory behavior. It can be assumed that brain regions involved in spatial orientation are show less plasticity and even degeneration. Here we investigate the learning dependent gene expression of NCAM180 with RealTimePCR. Additionally we analyze the behaviour of the animals and test for correlations between behaviour and gene expression.
