Purpose of research: Basic research
The aim of the project are systematic investigations on procyanidins, a complex group of phenolic secondary plant metabolites with several known health promoting effects, which are therefore potentially valuable food compounds.The main objective is to understand the physiological effects of procyanidins and to develop functional food with an optimal procyanidin content.
