Knowledge Platform on Food, Diet, Intestinal Microbiomics and Human Health (KP-INTIMIC)
Project
Project code: 2819ERA10F
Contract period: 01.10.2019
- 30.09.2021
Budget: 32,628 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: food analysis
The overarching goal of the Knowledge Platform (KP) is to foster studies on the microbiome, nutrition and health by assembling available information in the field of microbiome research in food, nutrition and health in a comprehensive way, which also includes other disciplines (e.g. food science, metabolomics, physiology, gastroenterology) that are relevant in the context of microbiome research. Involved scientists of the KP had identified beforehand the role of the microbiome in early infancy, during aging, and in subclinical and clinically manifest diseases. The goal is to make this information findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR) to the scientific community and to link and provide in-depth information to various stakeholders. Through these efforts a network of transnational and multidisciplinary collaboration will emerge, that will further develop and increase FAIRified studies with relevant information on nutrition, health and microbiome in order to increase the impact of microbiome research in human health. This infrastructure will be made accessible in order to strengthen networking and to provide relevant information for stakeholders and the general public.
