PHARMAPLANT GmbH is a modern contract research and development company that provides solutions to complex problems with plant raw materials for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, perfume, seasoning, and novel food industries. In the over 75 years since the founding of the research institution, originally part of SCHERING AG in Berlin, a wide variety of problems from private industry have been solved for a multiplicity of plant species. This work has generated vast know-how on plant cultivation and post-harvest processing, plant physiology, botany and biochemistry and developed into a phytotechnology platform.

- Breeding of quality varieties of chamomile with high yield potential for mechanical harvesting (Phase I)
- Collaborative project: Avoiding the input of hazardous weeds in pharmaceutical and aromatic plant stocks by seeds – subproject 1
- Collaborative project: Development of innovative, energy-efficient processes for the production of high quality herbs and spices – Subproject 2
- Collaborative project: Optimization of weed control in medicinal plant cultivation with a focus on indirect and mechanical processes as well as on the inventory establishment phase of chamomile and melissa. Subproject 4: Analysis and evaluation of integrated weed control concepts for sown chamomile
- Demonstration Project medicinal plants (KAMEL), development of standard operating procedures for the determination of seed quality of chamomile, valerian and lemon balm with the objective of a better secured field emergence
- Optimising strategies for weed control in medicinal and aromatic plant cultivation with special focus on indirect and mechanical procedures, as well as the cultivation practives of chamomile and lemon balm
