Synergies through integration of biomass utilization and power-to-X in the production of renewable fuels – part 4 TFZ: fuel testing (SynergyFuels)
Project
Project code: 16RK34003D
Contract period: 01.01.2023
- 31.12.2026
Purpose of research: Applied research
In the SynergyFuels project, an integrated refinery concept to produce renewable fuels is to be developed and demonstrated on a pilot plant scale, combining thermochemical, electrochemical and biotechnological processes. The use of biogenic residues will be combined with both Power-to-X processes and carbon capture/sequestration (CO2-negative processes). With minimised energy and raw material requirements, a wide range of fuels will be produced, designed for transport applications that are difficult to electrify. The fuels produced will be characterised and their operational suitability in internal combustion engines investigated.
