Purpose of research: Applied research
In order to establish a sustainable production of bioenergy from agricultural commodities, it is necessary to reflect not only the technical and economic but also the ethical aspects. For the involved business circles, administration and politics applicable ethical criteria for decision guidance would be very helpful.
The aim of the study is to indentify these criteria and relate them to relevant bioenergy concepts. Investigating the arguments of an interdisciplinary body of experts allows structuring the controversial issue and understanding the standpoints within the bioenergy debate. This will visualize the fields of tension, foresight future conflicts and improve the communication between stakeholders, scientists and consumers.
