CARBIOCIAL: Carbon sequestration, biodiversity and social structures in Southern Amazonia: models and implementation of carbon-optimized land management strategies. Subproject 13: Model-based crop growth and yield assessment for agricultural crop rotations and grassland systems emanating from tropical rain forest conversion
Project
Project code: ZALF-667
Contract period: 01.06.2011
- 31.05.2016
Budget: 453,545 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Carbiocial analyses carbon dynamics as concequences of the rainforest conversion in Southern Amazonia and derives sustainable, carbon-saving and low greenhouse gas emitting land use forms. Subproject 13 (ZALF) simulates biomass and yield of crops relevant to the investigation area under assumed climate and land use scenarios using an agroecosystem model. The yield projections feed into (socio-)economic and land-use-related simulations in the other linked subprojects.
