The return of the wolf in Hesse is challenging for the management of grazing animals. The use of common herd protection measures such as electric fences and guard dogs is very labor intensive. Lupus Repel is working on an innovative, user-friendly, and environmentally sound method to protect grazing animals and preserve grazing livestock. The project focuses on the development of a scent and associated dispenser system to deter wolves. In the future, the system is to be used together with other herd protection measures and, if possible, autonomously.
