Trace gas fluxes from tropical montane forest soil
Project
Project code: vTI-AK-08-04
Contract period: 01.05.2007
- 30.04.2010
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
The effect climate, elevation and soil properties on soil-atmosphere fluxes of N2O, NO, and CH4 are analyzed in a tropical mountain ecosystem in Ecuador. Furthermore, the influcence of plant biodiversity and nutrient addition (N and P) on trace gas exchange is studied.
The project is part of the DFG Research Unit 816 'Biodiversity and Sustainable Management of a Megadiverse Mountain Ecosystem in South Ecuador'
